Amazing views of rainforrested mountains from every window; with easy access to the beach (less than 10 minutes away)! The view from the shower has to be seen to be believed !
With a focus on privacy and low eccological impact this is the "get away from everything" that you have been looking for- support the amazing and gracious hosts and book as much time as you can spare!

Wompoo Eco Retreat is an absolute gem in the heart of the Daintree. My partner and I managed to snap up 2 nights here last minute, and we're so grateful that Jill and Peter could accommodate us. What a brilliant way to wrap up our week long adventure in FNQ!

We stayed in the Mangosteen cabin (higher up) and appreciated all the little touches that made our stay just that much more special. From the locally sourced breakfast/teas to the handmade soaps and bath salts, to the well thought out features of the cabin, we honestly could not fault our stay. Jill and Peter have truly thought of everything.

Mornings would be spent overlooking uninterrupted views of the rainforest while enjoying a delicious local breakfast. Jill and Peter provided us with a map of the area and recommended a bunch of local places to go and things to try, so our days were spent driving around and enjoying the peace and beauty of the Daintree region.

Evenings would be spent dining alfresco with a home cooked meal (all necessary equipment available), followed by an outdoor shower while the sun set behind the mountains, followed by a soak in our private outdoor bath under the stars before retreating inside for a comfortable sleep in a king sized bed to the sound of birds. Idyllic? Absolutely.

Honestly, if we had the chance to stay a few more nights we would! So if you're looking for a truly beautiful stay, visit the Wompoo Eco Retreat.

Such a lovely stay in Cow Bay! Large and comfy bed, plenty of space to self cater and cook, dreamy semi-open bathroom/shower and lovely outdoor bath. Sitting on the deck and watching the brown bandicoots at night was a special treat. We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed the Daintree each day, having a car makes this super accessible and convenient. Dream location and getaway - thank you Wompoo!

We arrived at Wompoo and found the reality to be as beautiful as the web photos. Surrounded by forest with views across the green misty mountains, well appointed accommodation, tropical flowers placed throughout, handmade scented soaps and soft fluffy towels. Outdoor kitchen on the patio included gas burners and all your cooking utensils really appealed to the cook in me. Tidy bins to the side for compost and recycling helped me to reduce my carbon footprint while on holiday. No mains power just good clean Queensland sunshine powering the lights. The bathroom has huge open windows and I found an unbelievable pleasure in the simple act of brushing my teeth while looking out over the Daintree. After spending our days walking on the beaches and through the forests we immersed ourselves in the outdoor bath and gazed up at the stars above us. Some good books available, fiction and non-fiction in our room, including bird books which helped me to identify the birds we spotted through the binoculars which were also in the room. Early in the morning on two occasions I heard the Wompoo Fruit Dove, wollock-woolloo....will never forget it. Thanks Jill and Peter for a lovely week of unwinding and recharging.
